ATOA Mission Statement
To be a network for police, tactical and medical organizations and personnel
throughout the State of Alabama;
To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, training, research
and development of methods used to enhance successful executions of missions in
the tactical environment;
To develop a database of information regarding police tactics that can be
used for the betterment of an existing team or aid in the development of a new
team.
MEMBERSHIP
There are three (3) classes of membership.
The definitions of each are as follows:
1) REGULAR ($20 Annually): This membership shall be available to:
-Sworn Law Enforcement Officer (Active or Retired)
-“Active”: Currently employed by a law enforcement agency;
-Medical Personnel that have received recognized tactical medical training and
are currently associated with a tactical unit or program;
-Physicians who have a professional relationship with a tactical unit.
1a) Team Memberships ($15 per member,
max amount $150 Annually) are available to Tactical Teams (a standing team
of trained and equipped officers that are responsible for responding to High
Risk Incidents, Hostage/Barricade Incidents, VIP Protection, Suspect Searches,
etc.)
2) ASSOCIATE ($40 Annually): This membership shall be open to any person with a
recognized affiliation with a tactical unit, but does not meet the requirements
for a Regular Membership or is inactive (serving in a law enforcement related
field such as corporate security, dignitary protection, etc.), retired law
enforcement, or military. The Associate membership application will be
reviewed by the executive board or a membership committee and then put before
the general membership for approval or denial.
3) CORPORATE (In state $250, Out of
state $500 Annually): This membership is open to all suppliers of tactical/
medical equipment and services committed to the advancement of the tactical
profession.
No person shall be denied membership in this organization because of race,
religion, gender or ethnic background.
A regular member in good standing shall be any person who pays dues and is
current on those dues. Annual dues shall be $20.00 per person and are payable by
the first calendar day of each year. Team memberships are available at $15.00
per member with a roster approved by the executive board or membership
committee.
Associate membership dues shall be $40.00 per person and are payable by the
first calendar day of each year.
Corporate membership dues shall be $250.00 per company/organization in state
and $500.00 per company/ organization out of state and are payable by the first
calendar day of each year.
Prospective members may be required to show proof of eligibility when making
application for membership. This proof could be credentials, letter from a
tactical unit commander, etc.
